Microloans for Entrepreneurial Ventures
Encouraging entrepreneurship among rural people living near forest reserves
With our microloans project, we seek to enable and encourage entrepreneurship among rural people living near forest reserves by providing individuals with seed capital to start ventures that support sustainable livelihoods.
NED Africa has been providing seasonal microloans for 50 subsistence farmers from Hohoe District villages for several years. These loans serve as start-up capital for farmers to buy seeds and other materials needed ahead of the two growing seasons in spring and fall.
Our microloans project operates in conjunction with our practical education and training project. While that project offers individuals opportunities to build competencies in starting and running small businesses, our microloans project provides the financial means to do so.
